Description

Echoes of La Divina: A Tribute to Maria Callas

Join us for an extraordinary evening celebrating Maria Callas, the legendary soprano forever known as La Divina. This tribute, “Echoes of La Divina,” is a graceful fusion of Greek and Chinese culture, highlighting Callas’s transcendent legacy and enduring global influence. The powerful program is presented in collaboration with the only Maria Callas Museum in Athens, Greece and brought to life under the guidance of internationally acclaimed soprano Mary Liu and Colin Yip.

The Essence of La Divina

Rediscover why Maria Callas remains opera’s most influential figure. Known for reviving bel canto repertoire and elevating opera to dramatic art, Callas combined technical brilliance with an electrifying stage presence. Her meticulous interpretations and emotional depth redefined roles across all operatic styles—from Donizetti and Bellini to Verdi and Puccini—breaking tradition to serve dramatic truth above all else.

In Collaboration with The Maria Callas Museum, Athens

This tribute is supported by the world’s only Maria Callas Museum, located in Athens—the exclusive institution dedicated to celebrating Callas’s life and legacy. The tribute incorporates rare footage and exclusive recordings of Maria Callas herself.

Inaugurated in 2023, the Maria Callas Museum is a biographical space devoted to the soprano. Its exhibits highlight her costumes, personal haute couture, handwritten materials, interviews, and audio recordings. The museum’s design prioritizes storytelling—from her early roles to her teaching legacy across multiple floors, including a café named “La Divina” with Acropolis views and a third-floor mediatheque for educational events.
